Amber Hicks

Amber M. Hicks is a seasoned IT professional with a decade of experience in web design, development, and administrative management within the U.S. Department of State. With expertise in SharePoint, Wix, and Drupal, Amber has played a crucial role in creating and maintaining secure, user-friendly websites that are essential to government operations.


Currently, Amber serves as a General Services Officer and Unit Security Officer at the Office of Foreign Assistance, U.S. Department of State. In addition, she is the SharePoint Coordinator/Developer and the lead Drupal Website Coordinator for USAID pages. Her work in these roles includes overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of various web platforms, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of security and functionality.


Earlier in her career, Amber was the Office Manager for the American Federation of Government Employees at the Department of State, where she established a website using WordPress and HostGator, designed newsletters with Microsoft Publisher, and provided technical support—laying the groundwork for her career in web development.


Amber's 10 years of experience have deepened her passion for creating impactful digital platforms. One of the highlights of her career was designing a website for four Prince George’s County judges during an election, a significant achievement that demonstrated her ability to combine technical skill with civic responsibility. Her commitment to her craft and her dedication to supporting meaningful causes through web design have established Amber as a skilled and passionate professional in the field.


Amber’s broad skill set in website design, IT support, and administrative management, along with her commitment to enhancing digital platforms for government operations, make her a valuable asset in any web development or IT leadership role.
